Leadership Assessment and Development 1:1 Coaching

“Nicola is a fabulous coach and facilitator. Her style of active listening and insightful prompts helped me to deeply think through a range of professional and personal challenges that were reducing my day to day wellbeing and leadership effectiveness.  The most powerful part of her work is her ability to help me find simple changes that I can commit to and that have made a real difference to the way I lead my life and team.  I’d recommend working with her on your own journey of self-discovery.”– Cameron Fitzgerald- General Manager Strategy and Planning City West Water

What is Coaching?

Coaching is a unique process of dialogue and personalised development that enables people to achieve their full potential by gaining clarity on goals and confidence to take action. A key tenant of working with a coach is that the client takes responsibility for their achieving their own outcomes.

Engaging a leadership coach helps you to step into the driver’s seat of your own development and to take conscious and committed action to make desired changes. Leadership Coaching is key part of both our Leadership Development and Team Development Programs.

During the coaching process, the coach will facilitate the exploration of needs, motivations, desires, skills and thought processes to assist the individual in making real, lasting change. Coaching involves using questioning techniques to facilitate client’s own thought processes in order to identify solutions and actions rather than takes a wholly directive approach. You can also expect that the coach will:

  • Support the client in setting appropriate goals and methods of assessing progress in relation to these goals.
  • Observe, listen and ask questions to understand the client’s situation.
  • Creatively apply tools and techniques which may include one-to-one training, facilitating, and skills practice scenarios.
  • Encourage a commitment to action and the development of lasting personal growth & change.

A key focus of the coaching relationship is that the client develops thier own competenices and does not develop unhealthy dependencies on the coaching or mentoring relationship. The coach will broker and facilitate meetings between the client and their sponsor to align, monitor and appraise progress. There will also be an evaluation of the coaching process using objective measures wherever possible to ensure the relationship is successful and the client is achieving their personal goals.
